Sophia Soraya

Sophia Soraya is an Associate with the Firm and practices in both New York and New Jersey. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Soraya commenced her legal career at a boutique law firm, where she handled a variety of matters, including, but not limited to, personal injury, criminal defense and appellate practice. Notably, Ms. Soraya settled a personal injury matter for approximately $1.5 million, wherein a man working outside a West New York, high-rise building was critically injured after an air conditioner fell 15 stories and landed on him. In addition, she represented a teen charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a minor (amongst other charges), which resulted in a guilty plea to an offense not sexual in nature, removing the requirement to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law.
Ms. Soraya received her law degree from New England Law | Boston. During her summers, Ms. Soraya had the opportunity to intern for the Hon. Donald R. Venezia, J.S.C (ret.) in Bergen County Superior Court, as well as become a research and teaching assistant for Associate Dean Judith G. Greenberg. She was actively involved with the Student Bar Association at New England Law | Boston.
Ms. Soraya received her Bachelor of Science in Crime, Law and Justice with Minors in both Sociology and Law and Liberal Arts from The Pennsylvania State University. She graduated with high honors (magna cum laude). Ms. Soraya was a recipient of the Liberal Arts scholarship and members of the Alpha Phi Sigma and Alpha Kappa Delta honor societies. During her time at Penn State, she was actively involved with Penn State’s Dance MaraTHON, which is the largest student-run philanthropy that raises awareness and money for children and families impacted by pediatric cancer.
Ms. Soraya was born and raised in New Jersey. She is a member of both the New Jersey State and Bergen Bar Associations.
