What happened between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard?

Heard and Depp met and started dating in 2012. The entertainers wedded in mid-2015, and notwithstanding numerous affirmations from anonymous newspaper sources that everything was “amazing”. Heard petitioned for legal separation 15 months after the fact. 

On May 23, 2016, Heard sought legal separation from Johnny Depp. Amber got an impermanent controlling request against Depp. She affirmed that Johnny had actually manhandled her during their relationship, and said it was normal while affected by medications or liquor. A settlement was connected to the court on August 16, 2016 where Amber Heard got $7 million from the separation.

The jury found unanimously that Heard could not substantiate her allegations against Depp and knew that her allegations of abuse were not true. The jury found that Heard acted angrily in writing her op-ed. The jury awarded Depp $10 million in damages and $5 million in damages to punish her defamation case.  Judge Penney Azcarate of the Fairfax District Court reduced the jury’s fee to Depp to $350,000, the state or legal limit, bringing his total damage to $10.4 million.
